We have found that many clients benefit from a much more hands on approach from their accountant than a yearly visit to finalise historic accounts. We would rather become involved with our clients on a more regular basis, where the business is large enough to justify such scrutiny, but not yet of a size to be able to afford its own finance director.
We have been involved in various projects with our clients, including the implementation of better accounting software and setting up different accounting processes, so that more detailed and timely management information can be obtained. Very often a business has a huge amount of data at its fingertips, gathered onto the accounting software, but lack of time and expertise by the management means that this information is not being fully utilised. We can provide that link between your data and the information that you need to identify areas for improvement (and therefore increased profitability).
It may be that you have not yet computerised your accounting records – we can provide advice on the various packages available, and even training to your staff. Many clients have found such tailored implementation and training invaluable, as it allows your accounting software to be set up in a way that really works for your business, rather than an industry standard. The reduced accountancy fees in subsequent years can more than offset the initial costs of implementation!
We have also found that some clients benefit from better bookkeeping. When an entrepreneur has a business idea, he does not want to have to spend all of his time working on the books – he needs to be out in the market developing his product or service. We can deal with the whole accounting function on your behalf, releasing your valuable time (quite often a restricting factor on the growth of a business) to do what you are best at. We like to think we will probably do a better job of the books too, as this is what we are best at!
